Attempting to purchase window coverings when redecorating or for a new home can be daunting.  The window treatments you choose will be with you for some time.  While the following tips are by no means a comprehensive list of all you need to consider, they can help you not to make purchases you will quickly regret.

Helpful Tips

1. Look for quality hardware suitable to the weight of the window covering it will hold.
2. Shop around for prices. Ask for estimates. Compare the economy of ready-made to the perfect fit of a treatment tailor-made for your windows.
3. Have accurate measurements before you order. If you choose to do the measurements yourself, be accurate. When measuring for blinds, know whether you want outside or inside mount installation.  Measure to the nearest 1/8" and remember that your windows may be out of square. Take measurements of the left, center and right of the height of your windows and the top, middle and bottom of the width so that your blinds will fit.
