Single and double-hung windows are one of the most common window types, and are recognizable to the homeowner as the windows that slide up and down vertically within their frame. Modern advances in the design and construction of the mounting systems of these windows have also provided such innovations as quick-release, tilting sashes which allow for incredibly effortless cleaning of the windows’ exterior glass - an important consideration for upper floor windows, where the only other alternative is a risky climb up a ladder for cleaning! Ask the manufacturer to demonstrate any such available features and assess their performance in person.
