As homeowners and businesses become more and more dependent on power, companies search for new ways to meet the demand. Natural gas, although not a new resource, is just now becoming readily available to the public, and is gaining wide acceptance due to its high efficiency ratings and clean environmental reputation.
Over half of new homes are relying at least in part on Natural Gas for heating and cooling systems. These systems can range from a 65% energy efficiency rating, still 35% higher than electricity, to as high as a 98% rating. Hot water heat, gas fireplaces and furnaces, to suit your personal preference, are available, as well as combination system, which combine gas use with a less efficient fuel. Fridges, stoves, clothes dryers along with an additional host of other appliances are available that take advantage of this energy source. Efficiency makes a strong argument, for these products, to the economically and environmentally conscience consumers.
Energy Efficiency & Environment
With the entrance of a new millennium, the issue of cleaner air choices is once again in the forefront. The reputations of even some of our smaller metropolitan areas are being blemished, as smog and air pollution reports become a regular part of the morning weather report. Although vehicles are directly responsible for a large portion of these chemicals, residential consumers and commercial companies still can play a large role in the production of harmful power producing byproducts. Natural Gas is responsible for 99 percent less sulphur dioxide (which causes acid rain), 95 percent less particulate matter (which causes breathing problems) and 40 to 50 percent less carbon monoxide in comparison with electric homes. With these statistics, many consumers are recognizing the benefits of Natural Gas as a natural alternative.
